Denmark Location

In 1992, KVH established a European office near Copenhagen to support international sales and marketing efforts, when it acquired Danaplus, a Denmark-based marine electronics company. Since that time, the Denmark office has become the headquarters for the region encompassing Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). The EMEA region is extremely important to KVH’s global strategy because of the many commercial maritime operations based here. Approximately 50% of the global maritime fleet is owned/managed by operators based in the EMEA region. Denmark and Norway together manage approximately 15% of the global fleet tonnage.

Regional Culture, International City

The KVH EMEA headquarters office is located in the Kokkedal Industripark, an industrial hub within Kokkedal, a newly developed area just a few kilometers from the Oresund Coast. At the coast, gently sweeping land stretches alongside Oresund Sound, the body of water separating Denmark from Sweden. The Oresund Region includes the attractive seaside town of Horsholm, with its prestigious marina, and Rungstedlund, the childhood home of writer Karen Blixen. One of Europe’s most cosmopolitan cities, Copenhagen, is located just 30 km south of Kokkedal, giving residents easy access to many cultural attractions.

All About the Region

The Oresund Coast is part of North Zealand, the northeastern part of Denmark’s most populous island, Zealand. Overall, North Zealand is one of the country’s wealthiest areas, with expensive seaside homes along Oresund Sound. Information about North Zealand and the Oresund Coast can be found at the Visit Copenhagen website. Rungstedlund, author Karen Blixen’s (Out of Africa) childhood home, is now a museum and 14 acre bird sanctuary, open to visitors. The official Denmark website includes information about all areas of the country.

The real estate market in North Zealand includes affordable apartments, modest cottages, and luxurious waterfront estates. Sources of information about real estate in the Oresund Region and North Zealand include:
