Dear customers and partners,
First, all of us at KVH wish to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the healthcare professionals who are working tirelessly around the globe to keep all of our families and loved ones safe. We also want to say a profound thank you to the seafarers who are keeping the global economy moving even as they are unable to return to their homes or even leave their vessels in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
I am pleased to inform you that KVH remains fully operational. Our products and services are keeping seafarers connected, guiding autonomous platforms, and helping warfighters stay on course.
Our COVID-19 Continuity Response Program is maintaining our employees’ health and safety while delivering the products and services you rely upon without interruption.
The KVH COVID-19 task force meets daily to ensure business continuity and safety. Four weeks ago, we successfully implemented our remote work program. As a result, KVH employees worldwide are continuing to deliver 24/7/365 support and service safely for our customers while maintaining all functions of our Network Operations Center and teleports.
Our mobile connectivity and inertial navigation manufacturing facilities remain open with employees following stringent health and safety guidelines established by state and federal authorities while producing essential communications systems along with military and inertial navigation products. And, in full compliance with local requirements and port restrictions, we continue to service our inertial systems vital to U.S. and allied forces and we continue to ship, install, activate, and service our mobile communications products safely around the globe every day.
We have also established new programs to assist seafarers and fleets during this crisis. These programs include free calls to ISWAN's SeafarerHelp hotline from any KVH VSAT-equipped vessel, free daily news delivery to any commercial ship that requests it whether a KVH customer or not, 50% off crew calling cards so it’s more affordable for crewmembers to stay in touch with home, and up to 50% off data plan upgrades to support expanded bandwidth needs.
With the economy in flux and the course through this pandemic still to be charted, we feel confident in our plans to deliver the products and services you depend on. All of us at KVH appreciate the trust you place in us and our people worldwide, whether you have chosen us to provide you with connectivity wherever you travel or to deliver the precision navigation, stabilization, and pointing capabilities your platforms require.
In the current environment, it’s important for all of us to remain safe while ensuring business continuity. That’s why we are taking steps to minimize the risks posed by the COVID-19 virus as we continue to provide you with outstanding products, service, and global support.
For our thousands of mobile connectivity customers around the world, KVH’s global service organization continues to provide 24/7/365 remote technical support, so please contact us at any time if we can be of assistance. For vessels that require onboard service in port, our worldwide field service network stands ready to help wherever our technicians are permitted to travel and in compliance with local and national health and safety requirements.
As for our ability to support our inertial navigation customers, we produce our own fiber and fiber components internally, ensuring our supply. For those few component categories that we purchase externally, we already have multiple sources in different regions for redundancy. In addition, we continue to be proactive with our supply chain, including sourcing additional inventory of parts as well as stocking finished goods with some of our more popular products. Finally, KVH’s inertial navigation service organization and technical support will remain available, so please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Throughout all of this, our commitment to the health and safety of our employees, customers, and partners is unwavering. Even as our employees around the world work remotely to ensure vital social distancing, we have established business continuity plans here at KVH to provide the superior technology, service, and support you have come to expect without interruption.
We have also shared the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other global heath organizations to reduce the risk of transmission of the COVID-19 virus with our employees, customers, and partners worldwide.
